Overview of ISERAS 2026
The Government Flying Service (GFS) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was established in April 1993. Since then, it has served as the spearhead of round-the-clock search-and-rescue, air ambulance, and other emergency aeromedical services within the territory. Under international agreements, these emergency services extend up to 1,300 km into the South China Sea.
To further strengthen international collaboration and facilitate the exchange of expertise, the GFS will host the International Symposium on Emergency Response and Aeromedical Services in mid-2026.
This three-day symposium aims to bring together leading experts, representatives from accredited organisations, and policymakers from countries and regions including Australia, Austria, the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the United Kingdom to foster deeper collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Through a rich programme of technical visits, keynote speech & plenary sessions, panel discussions as well as live demonstrations delivered by emergency response and aeromedical teams, participants will gain valuable insights into the latest developments, the application of innovative technologies in the field, and the associated operational challenges. A series of panel discussions will further facilitate in-depth dialogue and the sharing of best practices.
